I have always had a deep passion and love for teaching. Over the last 9 years in New York City, I’ve used my experiences as a performer to create an extensive curriculum and unique way to deliver the necessary information for all drummers.

From beginners to advanced drum students, I have taught over 40 students at a time throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, The Bronx, Long Island and New Jersey. I believe that each student is unique and requires a specific level of attention. For me, patience and clarity is so important for not only the success of the student, but their potential love and enjoyment for music.

My mission for teaching is simple - learn how to play the drums in a fun and collaborative way. My students start as young as age 4 and range from pre-teens, teenagers, High School and College students and adults. No matter what age you are, you can learn the drums. It’s never too early or too late to begin!

Teaching Examples:

Starting at Age 4:

  • Learn by listening: Call and Response

  • Building technique: Holding the stick, wrist stroke and rebound (the stick bounces just like a rubber ball!)

  • Counting Rhythms (counting and clapping the beat)

  • Reading Rhythms (Quarter Notes, Quarter Rests, Eighth Notes)

  • Learning songs

  • Rhythm Games

For “older” Beginners, Intermediate & Advanced Students:

  • Technique - Holding the Stick, Wrist Stroke & Natural Rebound

  • Reading - Rhythms, Rudimental Solos & Drum Charts

  • Styles - Jazz, Rock, Funk, Bossa Nova, Samba, Afro-Cuban and beyond!

  • Listening - Learning songs off records, transcribing parts and play-a-longs
